Paintings To Die For...

Ever since I stumbled across Holly Farrell's work over at Wide Open Spaces I have been obsessed! Her paintings are so realistic at first glance I thought they were photographs. I absolutely adore her book paintings. Based in Toronto, Canada her website is fantastic for we Aussies who live a little too far away to view her work in person.

As a side note, I am currently looking for some beautiful original artwork to display in my store, Black & Spiro. If anyone is interested in submitting their work for consideration please email me...anna@blackandspiro.com.au. I would be very excited to see paintings of table vignettes, vases of flowers, room scenes, pieces of furniture, blue and white ginger jars filled with flowers etc. etc. etc. I am looking for pieces which are medium to large in size.

I am so stunned by Anna Farrell's beautiful artwork.I have to tell you, just recently I visited the George Billis Gallery in New York City and found Ephraim Rubensteins paintings and you will not believe it: BOOKS! Just as fantastic! Have a look at www.georgebillis.com!
I am a book lover and if only I could afford one of these paintings, for time being there beyond my reach!!!
I will put some of his work in my blog for you to see!

how do they do it? It is an incredible gift. Lisa Porter's works here also looked like photography at first glance. What a marvellous talent to have!

Dear Anna, I left a comment yesterday, but it might have slipped through the cracks...
I saw these amazing pictures of Holly Farrell and had to think of an exhibition with book paintings by Ephraim Rubenstein which I visited recently in Manhattan, NY at the George Billis Gallery. They are beautifully done as well.
I put one of them on my blog, why don't you have a look?
As always delighted to see your entries....

Am a longtime fan of Holly Farrell's work -- the beauty and charm she brings to everyday objects is completely delightful.

{p.s.} just noticed you've changed your blogroll to the new blog list gadget -- for some strange reason, it's not compatible with my blog address, but if you use the feed address below, it seems to work:

Hope you're having a lovely weekend, Anna!

Oh, I do so love her paintings. I have been a fan since I saw her work on a Home decorator show. Everytime I see the one of the books, they look so real. I cannot believe she does this with acrylics. Such talent.
