A Little Project

I thought it would be fun to show you a little project I am working on for a client. Not only do we love to work on large jobs, we love to help clients with small things too. This little antique stool was dropped into me a few weeks ago by one of my clients who had picked it up in Melbourne. Although there might be some protests from a few of you with regards to us replacing the original tapestry on the stool, the client wanted it recovered in a more vibrant fabric. We chose a beautiful pink and yellow painted silk and we are trimming it with hot pink gimp. I am looking forward to seeing it when it comes back from the upholsterer in it's new cover.

I promise I won't mind! It'll be beautiful, and the cover can always be saved. I have been quite busy of late, and just had a chance to go back through your blog for all I've missed. I LOVE your window display!! And I noticed the garden table also...my mom has always had something similiar at her various homes. Wonderful!

Ahhh, the original cover is nice, but the new fabric will be FABULOUS! So happy and cheerful! Good choice in my opinion!

Lovely fabric choice. There may be some protests about replacing the tapestry, but I wouls rather the stool be recovered and actually used, than be hidden away in some garage or attic.

Gorgeous fabric choice! I love projects like this; the little things around us all matter too!

Just found a vanity and I'm trying to decide whether to have a "project" or leave it as it is...oh the possibilities!

Divine, divine, divine Anna. You've given this piece a whole new lease on life. Did you also paint the legs black? I LOVE the fabric you have chosen. It is so glamorous. What a makeover - from granny to glamour!

OMG - that pink is fabulous - I'm currently going with a hot pink accent colour in my living/dining open plan, and I've been searching for great fabric (preferably cushions)... I really can't find many in Melbourne - any ideas??? I went to Bed Bath Table The Works (Hawthorn) - legendary Interior decor huge shop in melb today, but they only had two suitable... very disappointing. Not sure what to do now

The tapestry fabric could be re-appropriated and I love the new covering. Beautiful.

I used to run from florals because I grew up in a house full of rose prints. But, sometimes we grow up to be just like our parents. I'm now thinking of painting my farmhouse dining table and chairs a glossy black and then softening the scheme by recovering the chairs in this floral print. What do you think?

Love your blog, I also checked out the Black and Spiro site and loved that too. Any chance of a move to Scotland perhaps?! One question, do you know when the tapestry was made? It would help with a project im doing at the moment. The new fabric you have chosen is to die for though.
