A Passion for Beach Hats Part 2

I have talked about my passion for beach hats before. You may recall that post where I talked about my love of using hats as decoration, especially in a beach house. Here are a few more images I have been collecting which may inspire you to use hats as decoration also.

I am hoping to purchase a lovely hat this Summer to add to my collection. If I am successful I may need to purchase another vintage hat block as my 2 other hat blocks are becoming a little overloaded. As a tide me over I recently resorted to placing a few of my hats on top of a vase I have on our table at Straddie as below.

Maybe I should consider a lovely hat rack for the wall as an alternative as I think Brad & Harry might be getting a little overwhelmed with all the hats piling up on the table!!

Anna,
you should look up Bonnie Cashin, she had a foyer with a tree for hats and such and I always loved her room that was treated like a boutique - but it was her closet. I think it must be fun to have a room dedicated to shop and get dressed at the same time.
I love beach hats and have a collection.....

i'm with you on the beach hats. i have my biggest, brightest one on display in my bedroom and it is a really great point of color and flair in the room. see pictures here:

Have you seen Estee Lauder's hat collection in Aerin Lauder's Hampton's home powder room. I will try to scan it tonight and e-mail it to you!

lovely...I hope you make it to your beach house as much as possible so you can sport some of those hats.

It's strange to think that you down under are about ready to embark upon spring/summer as we over here in the US are heading into fall/winter.

With my very fair face, I am never without a hat in the sun. And nothing says summer more beautifully than a row of weathered sun hats hanging on the white wall of a beach house.

Since stumbling into India Hicks Caribbean home, And seeing how she displays hers, I have been Totally Obsessed too! Don't have a fabulous beach house to put mine in though...:-(

I love straw hats and have recently started collecting them as well! The first I saw of using them for decoration was in India Hicks book where she had them piled high in her built in shelf. What a great idea!
