Home Work

Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing a few little finishing touches at home. Last week I collected together some paintings I have and had them hung in a cluster on a wall in our kitchen. There are a couple of drawings Harry has done for me, a painting which I picked up down in Bangalow last weekend and a few other special things I have collected over the years. The trick with cluster walls is laying the paintings down on the floor in a layout you like first and then hanging them. I always have a professional picture hanger hang them for me, after I have laid out the design, as my husband is {unfortunately} hopeless with a hammer.

You have a knack for picture walls! I've collected some nice art pieces but have to admit am slightly intimidated when it comes to arranging them so harmoniously.

Brava!!!!
You've taken it to new heights. I'm coveting the little acnavas with honeydew wedges (guessing)..I have a thing for fruits on canvas.
Also the smattering of pinks play greatly with the chairs & ball fringe....delovely!!!

Hanging paintings and photos is so difficult! I'm horrible with a hammer as well. This looks great :)

Where do you find a professional hanger ? I think i need one ! My husband is terrible with a hammer and has no idea of things hanging straight !

I'm doing precisely the same thing with my collection of photos and drawings but in black white and grey. I love the color in yours. The advice about how to lay it out first is spot on - exactly how I did mine - but I used velcro not nails so I can reposition easily. 3M makes a velcro/glue repositionable product that is brilliant.

Gorgeous! A professional picture hanger is a great idea - when I next move house I would like to have that done.

I like the variety of frames and the placement of each.. A friend who is an artist, taught me how to hang one perfectly!.. That saved my sanity..

so the old "make it a rectangle if the frames are all different and the subject matter is similiar" is NOT the way to go. Looks fabulous. I have a wall that needs just that treatment.

This is exceptional Anna, was it Andrew that helped you out with the hanging? I believe we shouldnt be afraid to "cluster", it makes life so much interesting & shows total confidence. Must say I
