Interchangeable Design

I think this Peter Dunham room above is divine. I love the wall colour. I love the mismatched artwork on the walls. I love the coffee table. I love the sisal rug which I feel grounds the room beautifully and I love the fresh pink Peonies placed on the coffee table.

It looks like Peter may have done a little redecorating when you compare the above photos of his room to the below photos.

Designers are always tempted by the most beautiful new ranges of fabrics and wallpapers. I know myself when I see a fabric in a new collection I can't live without I have a few cushions made in it for my sofa at home. I suppose for me, that's the wonderful thing about having a white sofa as it is so interchangeable.

Which way do you prefer Peter's room? The first way as above or the second way as below?

it's funny but I like elements of both - I like the furniture in the new pictures better but I adore the last picture! and i prefer the old art work over the new!!! so go figure. I need both rooms put together. love him though- he is fabulous!

Both beautiful rooms, but I think I prefer the blue soft furnishings in the second. It's amazing how such a small change can make such a difference.

The new one!

Oh they're both beautiful! The second one is the winner for me though... the old maps and the splash of red won me over!

Second one for sure! Just move the peonies from the first lot though.

Interesting.. I love a mix of both, but immediately my eye wandered to the old layout over the new. His work is fab!

They both lovely, but I am leaning towards the first one. Feels a little softer to me.

Amanda & Katrina - I with you! I love the room the first time around. However, I do still love elements of the room the second time around too like Joni does.

I'd prefer the second, though both are great in a certain way, maybe the second one gives me more of a feeling of being at home...that cozy feeling of being relaxed

Oh I Love them both. If I had to choose one or the other... I would have to say that I am drawn more to the top version. Oh so pretty.

Love your blog.

I am an artist and an antique art collector, so I have tons of different types of random art hanging around the house. I wanted to do a wall display similar to this one- is there a special trick to making it look great?

I like the first one. The second one is also nice, but the first one is more serene and has pretty pops of pink and cream here and there.

I like the first room, but I love the second! It is a bit off, not so perfect, the colors are so great and bohemian...just to plunk down with a book!

Oh the old one! That sofa is begging for someone to curl up with a good cup of tea and book and I prefer the wall color with the velvet on the sofa - both are fantastic though. I do love the chair fabric in the 3rd pic.

Love love love peter dunham! The first is my favorite. It's more sophisticated and I like the subtle colors and softer textures. Great post!
