Morton House

It's always so rewarding once you have finished a job and the clients are happy with what you have done for them.  I think being invited into a person's home to help them create a beautiful place to live is so special and I always feel very priveleged to work with my clients.  Afterall there is a choice when it comes to Decorators and Designers and for a client to narrow it down to me is certainly something I am always very thankful for.

Last year I finished a project which I had been working on for approximately 12-18 months with my clients Paul & Hayley Morton.  Their house has been featured in a wonderful 10 page spread in this month's Home Beautiful magazine.  I have posted a couple of the pages here.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Paul and Hayley.  They wanted a very classic look and we achieved this by selecting beautiful antique furniture, beautiful fabrics and lots of layers.  The other thing which I think was wonderful about this job is that they didn't stop when the sofas and chairs and cushions went in.  They continued and added all the finishing bits and pieces in a beautiful refined way which I feel certainly makes the overall look so appealing.

Thank you Paul & Hayley for asking me to help you create a lovely home filled with all the things that you love and cherish.

xx
Anna

Anna,
All I can say is stunning, job well done.
I can image most people would love to live in this beautiful 'home" notice I didn't say house. Because it is truly a home to be savoured and enjoyed.
Very lucky client, Anna you should be proud. Great to have a client that trusts you enough to go the 'whole hog" over time. As it really does take time to create something this special and very personal.
Congratulations,
warm wishes,
Daryl

I don't really buy Australian interiors mags because I don't often find anything in them inspiring or impressive, and rarely does the interior decor hold up to international standards, but while flicking through the current issue in the newsagent to see if it was worth buying this house caught my eye and I was compelled to buy it. I thought your work on this house was particularly charming and a delight to behold. It could have been featured in a US magazine and not look out of place. Well done.

It's really stunning. I love seeing the way you layer and mix. I've never heard of Home Beautiful. I hope it's available in the States- I'd love to pick up a copy and see more.

Hi Anna,
Your interior Design at Morton House is beautiful.
Do you sell the "lime washed rattan chest" in your Black and Spiro Shop?
Thanks Leesa

Hi Anna

This home has made me realise that my first love (blue and white) will feature in my rather ghastly rented living room - I'm pushing on to try and cheer up its dreary cream walls and (absolute horror) flouro lighting.

I'm filling the room with all my treasured things and many lamps so the hideous lights are never turned on!

If you could just help me find out what the cushion fabric is in this beautiful (and very Spiro) home - the pillows that sit on the ticking chairs please? I have been to three fabric shops in Melbourne, Home Beautiful in hand but no luck - they all agree it's divine!! Regards, Ann (myvillalife@gmail.com)

Yes we do sell that rattan coffee table at Black & Spiro.

Hi Ann,

You did receive my email but just so that everyone knows, that piece of fabric was a one-off piece of Batik which I purchased in Indonesia a couple of years ago.

Kindest,
Anna
