New @ Black & Spiro

Here's a new little piece which just arrived into the shop this morning. It's actually a very old piece which I had painted in a gloss white and upholstered in a bright green silk. It would be perfect placed at the end of a bed or in a wide hallway or even placed in an entry. The cushions, which I have named Tutu Cushions are a new design I am having made with tulle frills...so fun!!

The seat looks fabulous!
Are the tulle frills a growing trend? I'II have to look out for them. They are so effective. Your example brings out the centre of the flower on the cushion just beautifully.

wow. that is simply stunning...no other way to say it. if only shipping from australia wouldn't cost more than the piece itself. sigh.

would love to know sometime how you come up with such inspired improvements on old classics.

What beautiful fabric on both the pillows and the couch. This piece is so expressive! I wish that I had somewhere to put it.

Well I had the loveliest afternoon. I spent some time drinking coffee and giggling with the most talented and delightfully gorgeous Anna Spiro!

Can I just say that this exquisite piece of furniture is absolutely incredible in real life - the colours are so fresh and the white gloss is to die for. I so wanted to snaffle up some of those tutu (how cute is that name by the way) cushions on my way out! There were some red ones with pink 'tutus' that almost made it to my car along with the new antique table which arrived whilst I was there. Not to mention the veritable feast of fabrics I was oohing and aaahing over.

I'll stop raving now.....thank you Anna, Black + Spiro is a colour wonderland that I wanted to package up and take home all for myself :o)

If you are in Brisbane, or anywhere in Australia for that matter you simply must skip on down to Anna's treasure trove. Trust me you will never want to leave.

Wow, you are very creative. I would like to do something like this but no time. I can see this piece featured in home magazines. We can make a tea party. :-)
