Whilst browsing through the images I have saved on my laptop today I pulled these three out as they caught my eye. I seem to be drawn to green lately. I don't know why as I have always been surrounded by so much blue thanks to my mother. There seems to be something so grounded about green. I mean, I wouldn't ever paint the outside of my house green but I have to say that I love the look of that beautiful old house in the top image with the fresh white trim. I think I could accept green as an accent in my life.
Look at Tory {middle image} sitting there ever-so-stylishly with that beautiful green side table mixed with the blue and white garden stools. My mother is not a fan of green but look at all of that green in her lounge room {last image}...?? What's with that Mum?
Mixed with lots of white and blue and pink or blue and red and yellow, I think green could be a great colour to get to know a bit more...

Hi Anna..my great aunt Anna had a shingle walled house in Auckland in a green just a bit darker than the green house here..it was absolutely georgeous..like an English house with a cottage garden and a bird bath right in the middle of it's little front garden. Now it has made way for a big square medical building..what a shame!
love the green table in the second image..and the flowers in teacups on the mantel..the cutest thing ever!! xx meenal
Funny, I've been warming to green lately too. I wore it at school in Brisbane for 5 years and HATED it for a very long time afterwards. It seems to be appearing in alot of my colour choices of late.

Green is my favourite colour (I think its the Irish in me!), one wall in my hallway is painted a beautiful sage colour. I love your Mum's fireplace with all the little flowers on the mantle, I'm going to do this with a collection of little bottles I have as soon as I get home tonight - thanks for the inspiration as always!

In College, in my "Color Theory Class" - I learned that green has the most shades of any color, the range is truly incredible and greens go with greens as well as so many colors. I love green, but of course you know that.

Anna, my goodness - that artwork in your parents lounge room is to die for? who is it by? x
I used to hate green for so long. It was a color that I simply could not wear or have around my house, with the exception of plants, of course. But that's the past. I can't explain why or how, but green is one of my favorite colors now. It grew on me and I can see how beautiful it can look around the house.

I agonized for weeks over whether to paint our shed and matching chicken coop a Nantucket grey or a "Kentucky horse barn" green - both with white trim.
Your post makes me glad we chose a green tone - we ended up with a dark greenish-grey that was on the National Trust Historic Color paint collection list. Going green is always a good choice!

I like green because it brings in a bit of nature! Susan
Green is my very favorite neutral of all. I think EVERY mix of bright colors looks better with a little green. Just my philosophy.
Love that painting!
I just discovered your lovely blog. I'm just new into blogging this year & have put together a daily blog on design, fashion, food, travel and anything pretty.
