Perfect Fire Weather

Gee it's cold!  Perfect weather for a fire. If I had my way I think I would have both of our fireplaces lit 24/7.  Remember my old French chair covered in the vibrant stripe which you can see in the picture above?  Well, I think it might be time to recover it.  I'm imagining something simple like a ticking.  I bet you think I'm mad but I want to tone it down in our lounge room.  Maybe I'll just put it in another room and cover another chair.  Not sure yet.  Obviously I've had too much spare time on my hands today with the public holiday!  I'll let you know what I decide.

xx

Nope, I don't think your mad.... however, that chair has become almost a trademark for you, no? people have even done up artwork featuring your chair!

BUT, I am a sucker for ticking, so I say go for it :)

Anna,
We love our fireplace and I too want to recover some chairs here...in something fresh and I adore ticking and linen. Look forward to seeing what you do with that chair. Enjoy the holiday!

Stay warm!! I am excited to see what you choose to recover the chair with, although I think the stripes still look fabulous! I hope you had a great weekend and have a wonderful Monday.

Anna, I was just thinking the same thing, Gee it's cold, except I am in England and it's supposed to be the middle of summer. I saw your photo and thought what a lovely warm room, the chair fabric really brings it to life - but then sometimes you just need a change! SGHx

Love it, but sometimes you just need a little change. It will look great either way. I know-no help.

Your lovely Ned seems to like the fire as much as my boy. Really enjoying the chance to hunker down and light the fire while the cold weather lasts K xx

Oh, hello, dear Ned! I still love your French chair in the stripe, Anna, but it must be so tempting to re-upholster when you're enveloped in tempting, gorgeous fabrics every day!

I had to check the date. I thought I was on an old post. Then I realized I forgot you weren't just down the road but down under.
I can't wait to see what you choose for fabric

I love the vibrant striped chair Anna (and your artwork above the fire). I do understand though the desire for change. That's when I swap all of my furniture around before making a bold decision. I just did a post on your gorgeous wallpaper range for Porter's. Huge fan. www.notthebigthings.blogspot.com

The first thing I thought when I saw the picture was how much I wished I had that beautiful chair. I say just move it. It's so special <3

Hi - now I know why you were writing about a fireplace...you're in Australia and it's winter.

Love the look and feel of your room. I absolutely love the painting on your mantle. the colors are incredible. Who painted it?

I love the chair - maybe it can be recovered but I would use something in the same colors as the painting.

Glad to have found your blog!

Linda
