Beautiful Things Everywhere

It's true, sometimes I can hardly sleep thinking about all the beautiful things I see. Here are a few pretty things I have spotted lately. Everyone thinks I just like bold colour but actually I love subdued tones too as noticeable above. Isn't Brooke Giannetti's bathroom sublime!

PS. Thanks for all your encouraging comments on my last post...I am not stopping the blog {for now anyway}. I was really just saying how thrilled I was that my client was inspired by a few of my posts as I have been feeling like my posts haven't been up-to-scratch lately. To see that she actually created a leaf arrangement and purchased a lamp I posted was really satisfying!! I'd love to see any pictures of things you have created from ideas you may have picked up here at ABT...it would be really lovely!! Thanks for all of your messages!! xx Anna

I have been asking myself the very same question - the one about whether I should keep at this blogging thing or not. You amaze me that you want to quit. YOu get comments, tons of them, meaning your followers interact with you day in, day out. Me... I only get a very tiny fraction of comments, sometimes not even any after a post. And that upsets me becasue I feel nobody's reading. Yet there's so much out there to read and go through that once you have your followers who are truly following you, then I believe you should go ahead. YOur work on this blog is not meaningless at all. And yes - i love your taste & it inspires me.

I love and am inspired by your blog. Unlike the other blogs out there, ABT provides a lot of original content not seen in magazines. Please keep it up as long as you can!

You have introduced me to colorways and perspectives of decor that I never would have come to on my own. I just wish I wasn't on the other side of the world. Thanks so much!!!!!

Sometimes I can't sleep because I am wracked with worry and anxiety- I wish it was because I am obsessed with beautiful things!!! My obsession with painted furniture and colour was inspired by you, and the Fuschiadome is filled with lots of lovely things from your shop- my silver bird, my temple dogs, my lovely Ukranian cushion, my blue and white ginger jars....Keep up the Good Work. x

That is a beautiful bathroom and I'm so excited you've posted this photo. My bathroom is very much like this, sans the trimmings, and I have been umming and aahing as to how to finish it off. It's getting a bit prissy. See link for pic: http://restoringtheoldgirl.blogspot.com/2010_07_18_archive.html

Anna, your pretty pink blog is lovely and the first one I look at most days. I recently repainted, redecorated and rearranged by house using the same old vintage pieces, and the transformation has amazed family and friends. It is all thanks to you and the photos on your blog, especially of your old house. I am really looking forward to seeing pics of progress on your lovely new place. You are loved around the world, but must look after yourself first. Having a child, new baby, a shop and new house would stretch anyone and you are exceptional to do it. If you need to cut the blog to, say, one post a week, everyone would cheer for you (even though we'd miss you lots). I only discovered you earlier this year, and you have been such an inspiration. love to you and your family.

I don't have any pictures of projects, but I can say that I stayed in a beach house that was horribly decorated, but had great bones, and I kept thinking, "What would Anna do?" ;)

Dear Anna, I admire how you express your creativity so clearly, simply and beautifully. I am coming to Brisbane in December and have listed visiting your store as the first thing I want to do there. By the way, that post on your arrangement of varigated leaves made an enduring impression on me too. Cheers and thanks.

Love the seashell image - which makes me wonder, probably about time for the 1970s sea shell decor to make a (more elegant) 2010 return... perhaps a new trend? With a bit of gold and a bit of tarnish...Got me thinking....

I know how you feel. Even if I'm physically tired, the mind is always racing. I drive my husband crazy when I try to write something down in the dark that I don't want to forget and inevitably knock something over on my nightstand. Maybe it's time for a little book light.

I can never get enough of all the inspiration out there! Sometimes I've had to force myself to shut down the computer and go to bed.

Oh, I love your blog! I read it weekly and send things to my friends all the time. It's nice to send your friends beautiful things, and not the normal workday doldrums. I recently changed a wall in my living room, adding color with a spray-painted wall sconce and added a flower trail going up the wall, to offset the heavy piece of furniture. It's not perfect, but it's better. Thank you for the inspiration.
