Both those songs are etched into my soul! Beautiful post ... Happy Australia Day. I adore the image "the Art of the Desert" how amazing does that look. You can just feel the land sigh as you slip into the cool beautiful water and enjoy the view.
Beautiful post Anna! My son's elementary school here in Katy, Texas has the Koala as its mascot and the school celebrates Australia Day "in the outback"! Great fun!

thank you Anna for these 2 songs - they are the essence of the 20 years I spent in continental Europe. Barely an Australia Day would pass without me becoming reflective and ending the day almost tearful over these songs... back in Brissy now, Australia Day is loud and bold and colourful, but I miss these songs as they were so much part of my European "me".

I remember singing the second song in primary school for our end of year concert! What lovely links, for Aus day!
