Big & Bold in 2010

Sonia Arriola's report on this years Maison et Objet in Paris reveals that a trend for large scale prints, bold colour pairings, denim blue, and neutrals that shimmer will be all the rage in 2010. I loved this image she shared on her flickr of some curtains hanging in the Dedar showroom in Paris...the fabric was apparently created to represent a digital print. To me they even look a bit ikatish!

Great graphic print! I want to paint my staircase in a shimmery golden shade, or maybe a pewter gray again with a shimmer to it!

They sure do look Ikatish! I'm starting to see a-lot of different takes on the ikat print. I love big, bold, and of course bright! What a lovely image. My eyes thank you for the indulgance :o)

Yellow is my least favorite color, but this is so big, bold, bright and fresh, I love it!

Yes I see what you mean about the Ikat thing! I'm not a fan of black or yellow but these do really make a lovely impact, don't they?

I love that print! My Grandmother had a couch with a very similar print in those colours!

If this is a hint of things to come, then I can't wait. I love this slightly retro over-scale look.

Being a tall person, I have always gravitated to larger than live prints, colors as well as cocktail rings. I think the world needs a bit of bold in times of uncertainty.
I love the confidence it exudes.

The wall reminds me of an article I saw of Thomas Pauls home. I really love the black border around the colour. I like the curtain but, strangely enough, despite the bold print, it was the wall that got my attention first. :)

I am surprised that you chose this style.. its lacking your vintage flavor which comes as a surprise to me but i love it completely and the pattern has your name all over it... :)
