Pretty Vintage Chairs

Sometimes I find it so hard to let go of the lovely things I have at the shop. Today this chair and it's partner {there were a pair of them} left to head down to a beautiful client of mine in Melbourne. The fabric I used to cover the chairs in is so fun but it is now discontinued and never to be repeated again. Luckily I have this fabric on a piece at home too but I just had to post this picture so that I can look back and remember them. You probably think I'm a bit mad but this blog is about keeping a record of things I've done over the years so now I'll never forget these pretty chairs!!

Oh and just in case anyone is as crazy about that fabric as I am, we have 2 cushions made in it in the shop...we had 4 but 2 have already gone so that leaves 2 for some lucky person!!xx

What a glorious chair!!!

It's so gorgeous! It's like a little bit classic, a little bit pop art, with some graphic botanical prints and modernity thrown all together. Definitely never seen anything like it which, while depressing, is also what makes me love it, if that makes sense...

I don't know how you do it - I'd be way too attached to let go, and never make any money!
Perhaps think of it this way - the chair, and other pieces, carry a little bit of each person who's hands they've passed through...

Love the fabric! What sizes are the cushions and how much? I am in the US don't know if it would be a problem to ship.

Oh Anna, these are lovely! Your client is so lucky. I love that you have a record of them and all the beautiful things you do for Black & Spiro - and that we get to see them to!

oh, how pretty! i have a girlfriend who holds a "brocante" in a little town in France. the other day she had two lovely chairs but with a very old fabric on them. inspired by your blog I could quite see them with a beautiful fabric like this one! what a pitty I didn't have the money to buy them there and then - unfortunately they've sold allready... oh well, la prochaine fois!

I like how the color of the chair is not a dead ringer for the hot colors in the fabric, but still looks nice together. Thanks for the nice photo. It's tough for an amature like me to visualize how to put together the brights with neutrals of wood, and so on, without matching.

No, I don't think you're mad at all. The main reason I started my blog was to record all my projects and when I feel under pressure to post more often or whatever, I just come back to my original purpose.
That fabric is just so unique and it looks great on that particular chair.

The way you pair modern fabrics with traditional chairs is inspiring. This chair makes one look twice (in a good way) and I've always loved the black checked chair (in the background) with the green tulle.

Brisbane, Australia is now on my list to visit!
