Out & About

A great set of postal scales. I love the colour they are painted.

If only I was decorating a ski lodge as that deer head would be perfect!!

The old pub which is directly across the road from this fabulous little Antique shop.

Today I went to visit one of my clients in Toowoomba {a country town 1 1/2 hours drive from Brisbane}. Toowoomba is such a pretty place. The houses and all the amazing trees are just so beautiful. On my way home I stopped in at Marburg a little town along the highway as there is a fantastic little Antique shop there. I thought I'd show you some pictures of some of the lovely things they had. All there is in Marburg is this Antique shop, a little newsagent and a humongous pub across the road. It was definitely worth the stop!

That place looks fantastic... One of my best friends lives in Toowoomba, I will have to stop by!

Gorgeous! It's moments like these that I question whether I'm going down the right track with my little place and should instead be creating an antique little haven? I just can't turn away from colour and pattern and 'preppy' fun though. Will stick with it (and you for inspiration!)

Yes, I have been there too. Definitely some interesting finds! I did a recent post on a gorgeous house in Marburg which I found on realestate.com a while ago. I also enjoy visiting Toowoomba as there are some great little shops there too.

Brrr, what a day to visit Toowoomba, Anna ~ I hope you layered up!

I'll pass on the deer head {I think it would deeply disturb my kitty cat}, but I'd gladly take home that aqua lamp shade. It IS a great little shop!

Antique-ing makes me hungry too!
Antiques and food seem to go together. :)

We love old Les in that Antique shop. We have bought a lot of his furniture...so has my sister and he is so great to deal with. Marburg is beautiful and the pub is SO original!! It's like stepping back in time.

Hi Anna,
This Antique shop is not too far away from where we live and occasionally visit it with a friend who collects wonderful old pieces. And sometimes we'll take a picnic lunch and have it at some picnic tables there.
Happy to hear you enjoyed yourself.

I love finding hidden treasures, looks like there are some great things there!

Lovely Queensland ladies, you may already know but there is a cute little town just after Marburg called Forrest Hill. If you turn at the meaning 2 stop shop second hand shop (I’m not sure what that one is like, I haven’t been there in awhile) and follow along the signs. There is a lovely old cafe Sorella, which is great for a late Sunday breakfast or lunch and has some lovely old furniture and gifts, there’s also a little post office gift shop next door.

Wow - well you all already know about this little gem!! I really enjoyed visiting it and will definitely head back there when I go to Toowoomba next!!

How good is Marburg! Have you seen the little chapel just down the road-it is for hire...gorgeous! I was talking about your blog to someone in town today-town being Toowoomba :) Rather exciting to know that you are working up here!

What a treasure trove! I love that little lamp shade too.

I am moving my family down to Brisbane later this month so I'm going to make plans to finally pop in and visit your beautiful shop, Anna!

Hi Anna

How funny I just stumbled across your blog and saw this about your trip to Toowoomba I grew up just outside Toowoomba but now live and work as a photographer in London. Was really gorgeous to see your pictures and will sign up to the blog. Best Lisa

hi anna. i have driven to toowoomba from brisbane over 100 times and never bothered to stop until i saw this post. i told the owners daughter about your profile of the shop this week when i stopped for the first time. interesting business concept - half real estate agency, half antique shop.

Hi Anna,
The beautiful plant you have posted is called 'Echium", one of my favourites, flowers Spring/Summer, not sure about your tropical climate, does very well in Victoria.Grey foliage, so should like the heat, but quite woody as a mature plant. Enjoy your new garden. Love your blog, always go there when I'm having a blue dayto cheer up.
