Rug Love

I have been obsessed with this Matthew Williamson rug from The Rug Company for a little while. I would love one of these for our new house but I think it will definitely be way out of our price range. The colours used are divine and I just love the pattern. Doesn't it look beautiful with that pink sofa and I especially like it placed on the white painted timber floors!

Hi Ana
My couch is the same color. Nice hot pink and I love it. I have a nice oriental rug with pastel colors right now, but this one would be fabulous.

This is definitely you, Anna. The rug has an Art Deco feel to it, don't you think?

That's really fantastic! Looks like a traditional Native American rug with a modern touch of different colours. Another lovely choice.

This is such a beautiful rug, and the colour use is so vibrant!
It immediately reminds me if the Ndebele tribe here in South Africa. The woman use this type of pattern to adorn their huts and the walls surrounding their homes. The walls are always white, with very bright geometric patterns. I am sure that Matthew Williamson must have been inspired by these woman!

Gorgeous rug, and what a room!

the pattern reminds me of moorcroft pottery.

I would look at that rug and think that I like the colors, but not the design, but in the context of the room, it looks great.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring photo. Even though I probably could not afford it - it inspires me towards bolder things. The photography is superb.

Very wonderful image but what REALLY makes it for me is the bittersweet lampshade! Just that touch of tangy color puts a little edge to all the sweeter shades of color.

Great rug, beautiful color combination and strong pattern. It looks like Williamson has drawn inspiration from the Ndebele tribe (S Africa). Over generations the women of the Ndebele have created stunning colourful art. I am lucky to own a painting by Franzina Ndimande. I can recommend the book Margaret Courtney Clark on Ndebele art.

There is nothing I love more than whitewashed timber floors. I know some people probably think it's an awful shame to paint over all that beautiful wood, but I say what a shame to waste what could prove to be the most fabulous canvas in your home? I love the fuschia sofa - I have a trench coat from Mango in the exact same shade!↲Xox Andrea ↲andreareh.blogspot.com

That rug is definately inspired by the Ndebele people of South Africa. Everything of theirs, including the exterior of their houses, has the bright pattern. You would definately get that far cheaper in SA if you come here on holiday.

Wonderful blog.
