I Still Love Pink...

Last night whilst preparing the post about the birthday gift wrap dilemma, Harry was snug in my bed beside me watching t.v. and out of the blue asked me where the pink background had gone on my blog. I was surprised as I really didn't think he knew anything about my blog. I told him that I was a bit over it. He was disappointed {like many of you have been} and said "but mum how will we know that it is your blog as everyone has white blogs". I couldn't believe it. I had no idea he was so in-the-know about blogs! So, to reassure him and to reassure you here are a few little tidbits at home to show you and him that I still love pink and will do so forever but I just needed a little break from it on my blog for a while...maybe it will come back again in the new year.

Pink

As Diana Vreeland once said - "I adore pink. It's the navy blue of India."

I am in agreement. It's a staple. I never tire of it. I can't live without it.

One Day

One day, I have vowed and declared to my husband and our son, we will have a house which we will paint pale pink with white trim, black gloss front door and black and white stripe awnings. Call me mad but I would just adore a pink house. I loved this house which was featured in a new favourite book - Rooms to Inspire in the Country by Annie Kelly. It seems to tick all my boxes except our house would definitely be smaller.

Pretty Pink

Oh, that lamp, that mirror frame, that wall colour - love it all!! But then again it is Ruthie Sommers...my favourite designer of all time!!

I have the perfect spot for this gorgeous Made By Girl Poster!! Loving the red and pink combo!! Wouldn't it look gorgeous in that beautiful white mirror frame in the top picture {mirror removed of course}!!

Tuile frills get me everytime!!

Here are a few pretty pink pictures I'm mad about!

Soft & Serene

Australian rug designer and importer Robyn Cosgrove's New South Wales Southern Highlands retreat is so pretty, graceful and serene. I particularly love her all white attic bedroom with the touch of pale pink which she says was inspired by the pale Savonnerie-design carpet from Romania. I also love the pink and white rhododendrons which frame the driveway and the white cottage - such a pretty and welcoming entry to this lovely home. Images via Australian Vogue Living.

Sally's Office

I thought I'd show you a picture of my friend Sally's office which we have worked on together. Behind the chair is a wall covered in a beautiful Cole & Son wallpaper in pink & orange. Even her computer matches the colour scheme!!

Dreaming of Paris

Image (above) Source Unknown

In a few months I am travelling to Paris which is very exciting as it will be my first ever visit to the city which I have dreamed of visiting since I was a little girl. I was recently thrilled to find The Hotel du Panthéon which is a little boutique hotel located in the Saint-Germain des Prés area right opposite the Pantheon and very close to the Luxembourg Gardens. I couldn't resist posting some pictures of the hotel above - so pretty in pink and yellow and so perfectly 'girly' as I am going with a girlfriend who will appreciate the prettiness unlike my husband who would just say in a very meaningless tone 'yes honey it's great'!!

Sneak Peak

A little sneak peak of the new slip cover I had made in pink & white houndstooth for my old sofa at home. Previously the sofa was slip covered in a pink pin stripe which you all may remember. The new fabric is certainly very bold but I love it and it makes my special 'Anna Room' a bit fun and not so serious! BTW - I highly recommend slip covered sofas as new covers can be easily made in new fabrics to give the sofa a fresh new look and then if you want to put an old cover back on again you can - so flexible and great for a girl like me who gets very tired of fabrics very quickly!!

Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Poster above available above from Etsy Seller - Project 8256

Emma Jane Pilkington via Stylecourt

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise awareness Mrs Blandings thought it would be a great idea to post pink. Above I have posted some beautiful pink inspiration in honour of this very special and important month.

Please remember this one very important fact - the earlier Breast Cancer is found and diagnosed, the better your chances of beating it. For more information please visit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A Pocket Full of Candy

I just adore this collection of photos by photographer Hans Zeegers via Desire to Inspire. These images remind me of colourful candy - so pretty!!

On another note, I apologise for the lack of posts lately. I am extremely busy with organising client work for our pre-Christmas cut off date and I have had a huge influx of work over the last month which has increased my work load quite considerably and therefore left me with less hours each day to spend blogging. I will advise also that my posts will be a little light on over the next couple of weeks whilst I am working towards our deadline. I hope you all understand!! Thanks again for the continuous tremendous support and all of the lovely emails I continue to receive on a daily basis. I just love blogging so much - if only I had a couple more hours each day!!!

Have a lovely weekend! See you next week.

Pretty Men

Look at these two - don't they look pretty! I love the colours in the top image and the contrast of the pink coat against that amazing white wall at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs has long been a favourite!

Chrissie Jeffery's Pretty Home

Chrissie has been collecting the beautiful leaf plates above since she was 12 years old.
I have mentioned Chrissie Jeffery before. Chrissie is the owner of Stitches Soft Furnishings - a trade only workroom in Sydney and No Chintz - a retail fabric and decorating store also in Sydney. Her home was featured in Vogue Living September/October 2005 and it is devine - a mixture of beautiful vibrant fabrics and collections of things fill her home. My favourite Manuel Canovas fabric is used on the cushions above - she says "I fall in love with things like the Manuel Canovas fabric on the cushions. I have this theory that if you only buy what you really love, it will invaribly go together" - what a great theory to have!!

Pink & Yellow Notecards

Look at these beautiful hand made single edition screen printed notecards from Port2Port Press. I loved them so much I bought them but go and have a look at all of the other goodies at Por2Port Press as her beautiful stationery is to die for and the best thing is that she never repeats a design.
