Tracey's Vintage Art Clusters

Today I received a lovely surprise in my inbox from Tracey who lives in Sydney and is a collector of vintage paintings among other things. I couldn't wait to share the pictures of her clusters with you and here's what she had to say about herself;

"I am actually a part-time collector (my husband says accumulator!) collecting mainly antique paintings of roses (for my dining room), vintage art deco paintings of women (for my TV room) and vintage paintings of flowers for my daughter's bedroom (which she doesn't want anymore!) I also collect antique French fabrics (which I have made into cushions and trim on blinds for my formal lounge), antique silver and cranberry glass and antique sewing items. Of course, that is just scratching the surface. Full time (my real life) I am actually a Maths Teacher! One day, I will live my dream and open a shop selling vintage and antique items and one off pieces of furniture (I have more sofas than rooms!)."

Thanks for contacting me Tracey I love your vintage artwork clusters (my favourite being the top one) and I'd love to see some pictures of your other collections too!!

Charlotte's House

I have a lovely reader friend in Sweden who I actually posted about last year. Her name is Charlotte and she recently emailed me some pictures of her house which she has just finished decorating. I absolutely LOVE her children's rooms - so fresh, simple, stylish and homey! Charlotte loves vintage furniture and especially loves fossicking in flea markets for anything which catches her eye. She purchased the bed above on Ebay and painted it a crisp white - what a difference a bit of white paint can make! Swedish magazine "Villaagaren" recently featured a story on Charlotte and her tips on flea market fossicking. These images above were featured in the story and were taken by Photographer Martin Olson. I hope you enjoy Charlotte's menagerie of beautiful things!
Oh and I must thank her for including 'Absolutely Beautiful Things' in her list of inspiring websites which is published at the bottom of the article - very sweet!!

Ulrika's Oxfam Cushions

I received another lovely reader email today from Ulrika in Monterey California. I just had to share it with everyone as below;

"Hi Anna,
Thank you so much for your wonderful blog! I moved from Sweden to Monterey, California last year with my family. During the past years I only had white furnitures, walls etc, the summertime in Sweden are really short so the light is really important. Since I started to read your blog I suddenly wanted colours. I have always been reading interior magazines but nothing compares to your blog! Today I recieved the pillows from Oxfam that you recommended. I love them so much! I post you a picture so you can see how good they look in our livingroom.
Best Regards,
Ulrika"

What a lovely email to have received. I was just so thrilled to hear that Ulrika had used some info I shared on ABT. The Oxfam cushions truly are a bargain at $6.00 each (cover only) and don't they look lovely on her sofa!! BTW - I just checked the Oxfam site to make sure they still had the cushions available and they are still showing as in stock.

Thanks Ulrika for your email!!
