A Soft Palette

Last week I predicted a softer colour palette for this year over at Coco & Kelley's Crowning the Colour of The Year week. Here are some softly spoken rooms I'm loving and am inspired by.

Image 1, 2, 4 - House Beautiful
Image 3 - Shoot Factory

I wonder if any of this is possible, when you have two boxer dogs... Or is it just my excuse for being lazy?

I completely agree! I think we've had enough jewel tones for a while and pastels will be back with a vengeance. I've been blogging about it, too :)

P.S. I love the second image! I'm generally a fan of stripes on anything, but it creates the effect of a preppy/Hamptons/circus here. Lovely.

Very serene colour palette - love those soft grey-blues with just a hint of hot pink. Very inspirational. Thanks!

Someone sent me your link on twitter - @TalkingwithTami. I am going to paint my townhouse for the first time! It is a blank canvas right now - so many possibilities! I adore the light and clean feel of pastels. Question - we have a wood round dining table and organtely engraved chairs, could I stain the top of the table to that blue-color in the photo and leave the chairs oak? Or would they have to match? I could just make seat cushions with blue?

Thanks,
Cathy

Beautiful decor, I really like the soft tones against the dark wood.

Anna, you are speaking my language. I have been nuts about pale blue for a long while and just adore it with a pretty pink, either pale or punchy. This is the colour inspiration for my new office as it is peaceful and playful - I just need to get it all organized and do some painting. I can't tell you how many blue and pink pictures I have in my files! I am stealing your House Beautiful photo 2 for my file - I hope you do not mind! I had not seen it before. Isn't Shoot Factory great too?

Marvellous post Anna! I am adding you to my favorites! xo Terri

Man... I see that circus tent ceiling and I start to sweat thinking of the mathematical nightmare of taping it out. It is obviously well worth the effort...

Stumbled onto your blog tonight. It's refreshing...I'm now a follower!
