My Mum's Favourite House

My mum has, for a very long time, loved this house on Mustique Island. She has numerous articles on it and books with it featured in....it is her dream house, the house which has been the inspiration behind some past projects of hers and I'm sure it will be the inspiration behind some future projects...this one's for you mum!! xx

I'm SO glad you are back - I think you were missed the world 'round!

I wanted to let you know that our local paper, The Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, USA, named your blog as one of the "Top Ten for 2009." Check "inrich.com" for the January 16, 2009 "Home & garden" section to see for yourself. Even boring, traditional Richmond has found you - you have arrived!

An island is such a great fantasy location but how do you get to the supermarket to prepare dinner?

Many of our honeymooning clients have enjoyed staying in this villa on Mustique. For 2009 there is again a honeymoon rate for the summer. It is very charming and on the windward side of the island.

What a gorgeous home. It looks so serene - makes me want to find a place by the water to vacation!

This particular layout of pictures has me wondering if you've ever used sites like Houzz (www.houzz.com) - the idea sharing sites where people compile photos of different related design ideas for homes. The general layout of your posts reminds me of these kinds of sites but this post in particular struck me as similar in design. Just made me curious if that's something you've ever done or if you just use the blog to share all of these great ideas?

Either way, great stuff!

The house is called Simplicity and it is for rent. Go to www.mustique-island.com
and yes there is a supermarket, but you don't need to rush out because the house has an amazing chef.
