Hi Anna - I'm with you on this one, it's fantastic because of the setting and unhindered views. Only thing is I doubt I could return to New England where I lived for 12 years - just too cold in the Winter!! Of course it could be built here in North Carolina - but then I'd never want to leave and go travelling to all the other corners in this great world!!

Hope your week is going well in your corner.
Mary.

There's a verandah I'd love to have morning coffee on!

Do you have this type of architeture in Australia? I'm sure there would be amazing seaside houses like this there? Or is the style different? (Just curious) :)

Too much work on the upkeep ;)

Actually it's spectacular. I would give my eye teeth...

Yes, this is a great find! I just really hope there is an alternate entrance to the house, like an underground elevator or something. I'd hate to have to lug my groceries up those stairs. hahahahahaha.

How lush! However, I would probably pass out each time walking up that mountain of stairs. But I would have a great bumb:)

I love that it's summer in Australia when it's winter here in the US so I can live vicariously through all your summer related posts! Nantucket is just gorgeous and your photos make me wish I was there right now!

Those houses are just wrong. How can there honestly be such beautiful houses? If only I lived on the beach like that - maybe one day!

Since I spend time on Cape Cod every year, renting a house on the Bay, I hear ya. Seeing these pictures, I thought, "Is she trying to kill me or send me off on a massive depression, because, of course, that is my dream." Where I stay is the equivalent of being right at that water's edge, and let me tell you, the downside is I was evacuated this autumn, (for the first time,) during a hurricane...the sand road between that bay and a creek floods out and high tide and high winds= not good. Funny thing is, I've been through hurricanes and N'oreasters before, but this one was a doozy in terms of tidal surge and wind. I was out of the house for two days, and tons of cleanup. That's the downside. The winters, snow in the dunes...love it. The horseflies of summer. Can deal with it. Sand damage. Ditto. Even weathered my hurricane. :)

You and I both know what that house costs not only to purchase, but to maintain. But yes. A wonderful dream and a goal. We all need to dream, or we have no motivation or sense of our own futures.

oh everyone is being so practical with the stairs thing!! I've got the perfect answer to that. We have help. A maid and butler could look after those trivial things like grocery shopping and cooking for us!!! LOL

What a gorgeous home! I could move right in. You take such great pictures and that certainly is a plus, too. Anytime you want company, (kidding,) .....

I look forward to seeing more of your work.
