Kirsten Hecktermann - Textile Creation

The very talented and creative Kirsten Hecktermann creates beautiful and unique textiles from Antique linens found around the globe which she hand embroiders and hand stitches with ribbons, beads, stones, buttons and other beautiful things. Her pieces are used to make cushions, wall hangings, curtains and all sorts of interior soft furnishings and also a line of clothing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the new Gorman store in Brisbane has installed one of Kirsten's butterfly curtains across it's change rooms creating a very dramatic and beautiful feature.

I am always so impressed by people who have the talent and patience to make such beautiful things by hand. Love the butterflies.

I don't know where that clothesline is, but I would love to be sitting underneath it today, instead of indoors, hiding out from snow and 13 degree weather!

That is like beautiful laundry art. It makes me want to hang pretty things outside on the line. Love the colors.
