Hop Skip Jump - Beautiful Handmade Toys

I have to tell you all about Hop Skip Jump. Fiona Dalton is a fellow blogger I recently found who makes the most beautiful handmade toys and guess what, she is located in Australia. I joined her mailing list, Hop Skip Jump a month or so ago and I recieved an email from her not long after advising that her new toys were completed and in her online shop ready to purchase. I must have opened her email about 5 hours after she sent it so I excitedly went into her online shop ready to make a purchase and the entire new collection had completely sold out. I was dumb founded. So today I just received an email from her again letting everyone know that her new toys were completed and in her online shop. I raced onto her site and already 3 were sold out of the 12 available. I quickly emailed her with my selection and thank goodness I got him. I am going to give him to a very special friend of mine who is expecting a baby boy. I have attached a picture of Mortimer, my Hop Skip Jump freind who will be greatly loved by Kell's little baby who will be arriving in February 2007. Check out Fiona's toys. They are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to meet Mortimer.

Product Of The Week

These beautiful Mother of Pearl inlay chest of drawers and bedside tables are my pick for this week. I am just about to take delivery of one of the Pink chest of drawers for a client and I have also ordered another one for my shop. I adore the Black and White ones however, they have been so popular that they are currently out of stock until the New Year. I will definately be getting one of the Black and White one's for my shop when they come back into stock. Email me if you need any more details. They are gorgeous and I am very tempted to take one home for myself!!

My Christmas Card Pick for 2006

I know I'm probably a bit late in giving you this info however, maybe you can use this company next Christmas. After much thought and deliberation I decided on Iomoi for my Christmas cards this year. They are an American company with an online shop and they do ship to Australia. Thank goodness, a company who does ship to Aus. I don't know if any of you have found some great things on International websites only to find that they don't ship to Australia. I get so frustrated with this. Anyway, Iomoi does ship to Australia and I can tell you that I was amazed at how quickly they arrived. They also do custom stationery and other bits and pieces so check them out.

Sofa Designed by Me

I thought I would show you a picture of a sofa I just designed for a client. I had it made in one of Mokum's new release fabrics. It really came up very well. Deep buttoning has really had a very big comeback. I absolutely love the proportions of this sofa and with its ebonised turned timber legs would work very well mixed into a modern interior. I have since made a second one for another client in a Pink Designers Guild velvet. Wow it looked fantastic. Vicente Wolf

Hi everyone,

Well I've already had some great feedback from my first 2 posts. Thanks to everyone for looking. Today I am bringing you Vicente Wolf. Vicente is another favourite American Interior Designer of mine. His work is beautiful and very classic. He mixes alot of old pieces with new and usually uses very plain beautiful textural fabrics. I love his work. I hope you all like it too. Jan Logan Christmas Catalogue

Oh my goodness. I have just received in the mail tonight the new Jan Logan Christmas Catalogue. It is gorgeous. In particular I love, love, love the Bow Diamond necklace on page 12. Actually I just about love everything in the entire catalogue. Her new catalogue isn't on her website yet however, if you want a catalogue just call them and they will post you one. She does mail order as well!!! I also love her antique jewellery. Just gorgeous. My brother bought his girlfriend a beautiful pearl bracelet from Jan Logan this year and it was amazing. I really love her things.

My First Post

Hi, Hello, Bonjour,

Well this is my very first post. My name is Anna and I am an Interior Designer in Brisbane, Australia and I love Beautiful Things. I am absolutely obsessed with everything gorgeous. I have my own Interior Design Business in New Farm, Brisbane, Australia by the name of Black & Spiro. I hope to bring to you on my Blog some of the most beautiful things I can find. I also hope my Blog is filled with visuals and websites which you can all access very easily. I am currently setting up my website for my business so once this is set up I will connect it to my blog so you can all see what I do and what I currently have available in my shop. My look is mixing old with new and I am completely passionate about beautiful fabrics, unusual Vintage finds, interesting patterns, bright colourful flowers and anything different, beautiful, original and hard to find.

Well, you are all probably wondering what my first post is going to be. At the moment I am completely in love with everything Kelly Wearstler. Kelly is an American Interior Designer. I recently stayed in one of the hotels she has done in LA. The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. Wow, wow, wow is all I can say. My husband and I stayed there for 5 days in August this year and it was amazing. I totally recommend it. Kelly's work is definately on show here.
