Chateau Les Merles




Located in the Dordogne region in France, Chateau Les Merles is a small luxurious family run hotel comprising of 12 guest rooms, 2 suites, 1 spacious apartment, restaurant, golf course and swimming pool. The chateau has been restored by it's current owners and renowned Dutch interior designer Joris Van Grinsven has given the Chateau a fresh and new charming character. I love the mix of modern pieces with old and the black and white colour scheme is simply beautiful. This is certainly a place I would love to visit one day.

    Anna, that makes two of us! I have wanted to go to Dordogne since reading the book A Vineyard in the Dordogne (a great read!). I'm ready to book a ticket and a room!

    I love the French sense of style and Architecture. Interesting that the designer is Dutch. I am noticing that there is a lot of very good design coming out of the Netherlands right now.

    Ah. You know, I really never tire of teh Ghost chair. I love it. I realy love it against more rustic pieces, too.

    I have to put this Chateau on my list of places to visit! It looks so beautiful. I love the juxtapostion of the modern Ghost chair next to the dark built-in display cabinet and old portrait! Fabulous!

    I was there last month. Didn't stay there but we had the most amazing 18 course lunch. I would highly recommend it. There is also a golf course at the hotel.
